File Statuses Configuration Guide
Configured file statuses enable you to effectively identify and determine the status of files in your content library.
Note: To configure your instance, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Default File Statuses
File statuses are used in easyDITA to indicate where a file stands in the authoring and publishing process.
Configured File Statuses
Configuring file statuses to align with your existing processes can make interacting and searching for content more intuitive for your users.
You can configure the following aspects of file statuses:
- Status names
- Color indicators
- Amount of statuses

Complete the table with each file status you want configured. List the statuses in the order you want them to appear:

- Display Name
- The name shown for the file status in the status drop-down menu.
- Color
- The color indicator that shows for each file status in the content library.
- Topic Editor Mode
- By default, users can edit the content in the Topic Editor directly unless otherwise specified. If set to Review-Only Mode, topics will open in the topic editor in Review-Only Mode. When you open a document in Review-Only Mode, you can add comments and suggestions, but cannot edit the topic directly.
